I was sitting here reading and thinking about different aspects of my life. Then I decided to do something I haven't done in years...
Will post pics when I'm finished, if I go through with it.

BWF Update & A Reading Memory
I finished 1984 yesterday, and have moved on to book 4 in my Books with Friends series. The 1st book in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. As I am reading this book, I can't help but remember being young and really discovering my love for reading.
I lived in South Carolina and my mom would bring me and my siblings to her friend's apartment. The place was nice enough, but I hated the fact that there was no tv. My days there were usually spent napping while my mom and her friend cooked crab and other types of seafood. One day when I knew we were going over there, I grabbed this book I had checked out from the library. Since I was reading, my mom agreed to let me sit with my book instead of making me take a nap. It was the best time I ever had there, and that book was the first to instill a sense of sadness when I reached the end. I loved the book but hated that it was over.
The book is called The Witches by Ronald Dahl, and I can't help but wonder if J.K Rowling was inspired by Mr. Dahl's work. I have not met many people who have heard of his book The Witches (although it had been turned into a movie) but many have heard of his books involving a character named Willy Wonka.
Happy Reading!

Bathroom Stall
While I was in the bathroom at work, I overheard the following conversation. It got a lot of laughs from the women in stalls, myself included.
Lady 1: Hi, how are you today?
Lady 2: Good, just getting use to things. It's my first day here.
Lady 1: Really? Congratulation! What department do you work for?
Lady 2: Human Resources.
Lady 1: What are you doing?
Lady 2: What?
Lady 1: What are you doing?
Lady 2: What am I doing? I was using the bathroom.

Just Sleeping?
Sometimes when I see my dog like this, I wonder if he's ok. Well, not just ok. I wonder if he's still alive. So, I walk over and tap him or something to see if he responds. He then wakes up and looks at me like "you better be giving me a treat."
This time I just let him sleep.

Books With Friends (BWF) - Update
I have not forgotten this project! This was a project that was originally scheduled to being in June. However, that wonderful thing called the flu kept me from wanting to do anything aside from lying in bed. Then after I started feeling better, I had to catch up on all the work I missed. So, after sometime I have started this project.
First, off I really want to thank everyone who has contributed to this project. The response was incredible by means of book selections. Seeing this lengthy list has excited me. Yes, I know I am such a nerd.
Secondly, I have begun reading from this list! I decided to go in order of the best way to get the selected reading. As such, I am currently reading The Private Memoirs and Confessions of A Justified Sinner by James Hogg. This book was selected by my sister. My next planned reading is Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton as chosen by my bestie Amanda.
I will be posting links to my reviews so check my blog for an update soon. My list contains all genres of reading. I truly hope others enjoy my reviews as much as I enjoy writing them.
Happy Reading!

Summer Sun
This morning looked to be a good day.
I woke up early to get to work, stopped for a quick breakfast and as I walked outside, I noticed it started to rain.
This put a smile on my face as I love the rain. Rainy day are so calming for me. I think it's because I love the water. When it pours, I feel relaxed and at peace. Once I got to work, I heard the grumbling of my coworkers.
"Why is it raining?"
"This isn't California weather!"
"It's summer time. Where's the sun?"
By the time I heard to lunch, the skies had cleared and the sun was ablaze.
...and it was hot!
Then I heard my coworkers again:
"It's so hot!"
"Why is the a/c so low?"
"I'm glad we're inside."
I really don't understand you native Californians.

End of the Night
The good news is that LA Galaxy won 3-1.
The bad news is I am now sitting in traffic.
I had written a long blog entry about my feelings about this game but for some reason the blog entry did not post. I will have to post some other time when not waiting for cars to move.
Here's a video clip of the firework show after the game. Enjoy!

LA Galaxy
Ruben thought that it would be a good idea to bring me to my first soccer game this Independence Day. That's why I am now sitting in the Home Depot Center watching LA Galaxy warm up. Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle suppose to be returning tonight from South Africa.
Now I need some kettle corn or nachos and I will be set.
Happy Independence Day!
